I had an Iphone that died in a matter of a couple of hours. So I replaced the battery but it still dies just as quickly. I am currently going through software troubleshooting and if that doesnt work I will do a factory reset. Also it charges VERY fast too. As in 30% in less than an hour. But that 30% only lasts 20 minutes.
ANY help will be greatly appreciated!

I would be tempted to say: disconnect the battery connector, and examine around it using a magnifying glass. You should be looking for anything broken, missing.
But that's if someone previously worked on your phone's internals. So did anyone do so? How/when/why did this issue happen or begin?
Was the old battery swollen?
Where did you get the replacement battery from? That's because cheap/defective batteries are a dime a dozen, you should try a known good battery or purchase one from a reliable source.

No this is the first time it has ever been taken apart. The old battery was not swollen and actually looked brand new. I got it off ebay for 6.00 from a top rated seller. But yes it could still be bad. It just started happening randomly.
If you feel that the new battery is dying faster than the old battery, put back the old one and compare. If the old battery works just as well as it used to, it means you didn't damage anything; just that the new battery is worth exactly what you paid for it: almost nothing.

I'm going to say the new battery is defective. For the price of an iPhone 4s battery I would get another new one and try it.
