Will my iPod still work if I get the screen replaced?

I had dropped my iPod and it was cracked for awhile and a few weeks later i dropped it in the bathtub. I took it out right away and let it sit in rice overnight. The next day it tuned on and was normal, but then it just turned off. i put the iPod on the charger to see it it was dead but that's not what the problem was. I can still see the screen if you hold it in a certain position in the light. i was wondering if you could get a screen replacement and it would still work??
