Hi, im planning to buy 8GB RAM memory for my ASUS X551CA laptop.
How to install the 8GB RAM Memory in X551CA Motherboard ASUS Laptop? and what is the limit of Memory Slots of ASUS X551CA Motherboard? is it 4 or 8 GB only? Thanks

4 GB is soldered onto the motherboard. No slot for expansion. So if the ram is bad, get a new motherboard or just throw it away.

I know this is an old post but online there are different answers to this question. I am adding this in case someone needs the ultimate info:
The asus x551ca-sx024h PCB rev 2.2 doesn't have any additional slot, see the pictures, in the last one you can see that the slot is empty and the RAM is soldered directly in the PCB

the RAM limit on your notebook is 8GB so, you can upgrade your RAM, its really simple to change it. if you haven't bought the RAM the check this crucial link http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible...

The ram slot is on the bottom of the motherboard. There is no access panel so the motherboard has to be removed and RAM added.

Yes, you can upgrade, but it’s a bit tricky.
You need a DDR3 SODIMM RAM connector, which you can buy from Chinese websites like AliExpress.
You also need 0.5 mm soldering wire, a soldering iron, and flux.
Once you have these, open your laptop, carefully remove the motherboard, and flip it upside down.
Find the point shown in the image and follow the instructions on the image step by step.
Note: You can upgrade up to 8 GB of RAM, and it’s only compatible with DDR3 SODIMM.
Make sure to apply flux so the solder isn’t loose, and use a magnifier if possible to make the soldering easier and cleaner and be careful not to short the pins or damage the board.
