Earpiece does not work, speaker and earphone are working

The earpiece speaker on my iPhone 5 does not work, and I have tried a couple of solutions, but none of them have worked yet. The sound just went out one day with no indication that the speaker was going bad.

First, I replaced the earpiece speaker and that did not resolve the issue.

I also replaced the entire display assembly because there was a small crack on the screen that I needed to fix anyway. The display assembly comes assembled with a front camera, earpiece speaker, and home button...

Anyone have other thoughts on a possible solution?

Is there anything stuck in the headphone jack?

Have you backed up the phone, and then reset the phone to factory settings and tried to use the speaker before restoring your backup?

Beyond that it sounds like it might be an issue with the logic board.

The headphone jack is clear and I did try resetting the phone and tried to see if the earpiece would work before restoring my phone, but that didn't help.

First, check if you did some weird setting.

And then, if your front camera and light sensor work well? The earpiece speaker works by connecting with two metal contactors on the front camera flex cable. If the camera and the light sensor all failed, that's either the problem of flex or front camera FPC connector.

As for you have replaced with entire display and still not working, so it's more likely the problem of FPC connector or motherboard. To check if all the pins of FPC connector are well.
