Changed the logic board, itunes sees it as a different color iPod

This may be a minor issue, but I recently fix an old ipod nano 3rd gen which logic board was corrupted, with another one which belonged to a different color ipod nano 3-

So now everything works as expected but iTunes recognizes the ipod like it was a different color-

So I was wondering, is that something you can override in the ipod main board, or is it maybe attached to its serial number and iTunes gets it from a server or something??

I know its probably hard to hack into that, but I'm also curious..
