I have an A1431 Chinese model iphone 4s with a cracked screen and tried replacing it with two different regular iphone 4s screens but neither will work. Plugging it in a wall charger does nothing but plugging it into a computer the PC will recognize it. Ive also tried swapping the battery and replacing with the original cracked screen and nothing is working.

Chinese model is not the issue. iPhone 4s model A1431 use the same exact hardware as US/Asia/Pacific iPhone 4s...s.
When you have unrecognised display issue, first try to put the original one back, if it works, then the new display is broken or not compatible. If the old one doesn't work, you definitely broken the phone itself.

Hi there what iOS were you on? If it's 5 or 6 the newer screens don't reconise the old firmware and the phone will need updated then the screens will work

Tom if the phone is on iOS 5 the new screens will not work until updated.
Had this issue many times before
But if it is iOS 7 then could be a defective display

Maybe Apple added another supplier for LCD and included new drivers in new software packs so only iOS 7 will recognise them. But tdrouli said the original cracked one doesn't work either, so maybe he actually broke something.
