nook HD turns off at boot screen

My nook HD shows the following symptoms,

1. Holding power button, does not turn on.

2. Inserting the power socket, boots nook with green led, in few minutes, led blicks with green and orange and turns off (both led and screen)!

What could be the issue i might be facing ?
