iPad 2 Home button intermittently working after Digitiser replacement

• (1) Heavily damaged and misshapen rear housing on the bottom right (next to Wifi antenna):

• (2) Another dent found directly over the dock connector (this does not seem to effect charging):

I removed the old damaged digitiser and replaced wifi antenna but the damage to the outer housing I believe is causing the home button contacts to not touch fully. There is intermittent response when pressing hard, I may need to check alignment and reassemble. Would this dent directly effect the contacts or is it related to the alignment / adhesive?

Also, the damage near the wifi antenna was quite severe so I replaced the wifi antenna. However, the wifi does not find any connection. Could this be due to the bend in the outer housing on the bottom left or a contact issue with the digitiser? I will recheck connections on the main board just incase I've missed anything.

Any other ideas?

Hi there the bent frame is probobly causing why u need to press hard to get home button working because if you look at the button unit under the screen the gold contacts need to be resting on the contacts in the frame..

Have you connected the wifi antenna correctly is it seeded correctly?

hi con, yes the wifi antenna is now working (i actually used the refitted the old one and have since tested).

Is there anyway to extend the reach on the gold connectors or loosen the connectors on the digitser so that it drops closer to the gold connectors?
