CPU Overload 300%

Hi guys I'm new so I'm sorry if this isn't a perfect description.

Computer: MacBook Pro 13" mid 2013, 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 (EMC: 2554)

Problem: sluggish performance fans constantly on full along with kernel task taking up 300% CPU

Having already carried out an SMC and PRAM reset nothing worked, then also reinstalled OS again no success.

Carried out an AHT and got error message:

4SNS/1/C0000008 : TAOP -- 124

After some research I realised that it was the ambient temperature sensor which was malfunctioning (TAOP)

To test this I installed Istat and Temperature gauge pro but got no abnormal sensor readings (or at least it don't thin they are)

( CPU 1 core : 32 degrees Celsius)

(CPU 2 core : 32 degrees Celsius)

(CPU core peci : 32 degrees Celsius)

(GPU 1 Diode : 36 degrees Celsius)

(Palmrest proximity : 25 degrees Celsius)

(HHD : 32 degrees Celsius)

This confused me is the TAOP sensor not monitored? Is there anyway to disable it?

Is the sensor on the logic board or on another component that I could switch out?

Is my board dead as a dodo?

(Oh and my MacBook Pro is no longer under warranty.)

Does anyone know if this sensor is on the logicboard?

Do you have an external drive (disk or SSD/Flash) FireWire (best) or USB, that you can setup as a bootable drive? If you do try running your system from it to see if that made a difference.

If it did its likely your HD's SATA cable is bad.

How did you install the OS onto the flash? Are you sure its the booting drive.

Yeah I'm sure. Ran it off a usb harddrive but didn't work (had mavericks installed on external hard drive and snow leopard on internal hard drive so I'm sure :P Kinda a pain as I'm a student and really dont want to have to pay for a new logic board. Think I've found a temporary solution until I manage to save up some cash over the summer to buy a new one: Installed Windows 7, I'm guessing that it isn't influenced by the sensor reading as everything is working fine. Shame tho.. no backlight working and my fn keys dont work either :( Wish i didn't have to do this but need my computer for uni work so I don't think I have any other options.. Still have OS Mavericks incase I really need Mac I guess.. A bit of a pain, so if you have any other Ideas I'm all ears! (writing this from a MBP running windows.. feeling like a right idiot..)

? Any ideas ?

Whats confusing me here is the error is a temp sensor on the optical drive. My copy of Temperature Gauge shows the optical drive Temperature Optical Drive 0 Proximity At this point I suspect the sensor in your optical drive is bad or has become disconnected some how. Unlike the iMac units these optical drives have the sensor built-in. You'll need to get a replacement drive to fix this. Follow this IFIXIT guide MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Optical Drive Replacement

Right installed OS X on a USB but that hasn't changed the kernal_task still at 300% :(, do you by any chance know where the sensor is?

Did you fix it?
