Why is my iPod screen not turning on after a screen replacement?

I replaced my screen yesterday and it wouldn't turn on. I tried grounding it like another user had said, and I got a white screen. I did a hard reboot and now the screen is completely dead again. It is recognized by iTunes. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do!
