Is the digitizer part of the glass or the lcd

I wanted to change the color of the screen on my iphone 5 and was wondering if I was going to have to buy one one the $150 assembly's or if I could just buy the colored glass

On iPhone 5 the digitizer is part of the LCD Display. So in theory you could with much difficulty, heat and expertise swap the front glass. But, this is reality, so you will have to get the entire front assembly as a one piece part.
