current leaking to back metal case while charging

I bought it two months ago. but always used it with a silicon case, maybe that's why i didnt notice it before. When ever I charge iPod with USB cable or 3rd party charger, there is a very feeble current leaking to its back metal casing. It is so feeble that i just feel a very small vibration when I touch its back. I am sure its because of the current leakage because if I sit in a bed, I wont feel that vibration. The moment I touch my leg to the ground, the vibration will start.

I Am from India. And here there is no apple stores. They gave warrenty services to a company called Redington. I called them and they told me that they won't repair, but just replace the device. :) so I am going to wait for 2 months untill a new jailbrake is released for os 4. That way I think I will get a free upgrade to os4 too. But will that new device be of any sub quality?

could it be the charger you are using, combined wit the wiring of the outlet?

When you say 'charge with USB cable' is this from a computer, and if yes, is the computer plugged in?

There should be no leak between the mains and the iPod, and the leak would have to be in the charger or powersupply that is connected to the mains.

Hope that makes sense

I have tried differet outlets. It arises during charging with USB too. So I think it's a problem inside the iPod. Else both USB cable and charger should be malfuntioning which is I think very unlikely.

But I hate that idea because I want to keep my jailbreak. And there is currently no jailbreak for os 3.1.3. I just want to know if this problem is anything serious? What if I don't repair it? Does this will affect any other part?
