A1347 starts, but screen stays black

A1347 starts, but screen stays black

Ubuntu was installed by the previous owner.

now the Mac mini has the following behaviour:

start up after power button is pressed.

Fan starts spinning, HDD runs, ODD runs.

white led is on.

Shortly after this the white led and the fan switch off.

And automaticly go on again.

Mini stays on after this re-boot/reset.

But the screen stays black.

As well on HDMI as on minidisplay port.

is this caused by the ubuntu installation?

how to recover ??

replacing the HDD does not solve the problem !

オプション

Boot from an install disk, or from an other Mac (Use option boot) to select boot disk. If the behavior changes you'd be best off to reformat the HD and do a normal install of OS.

If the behavior does not change you probably have a blown video chip.

Placing a known good HDD with a good OSX installation does not help.

And there is no reponse to the keyboard.

So booting using option, c, d or safemode does not work.

Try using any old USB external keyboard... (an Apple keyboard would be best if you have one) the system should recognize it and allow the alternate boot methods.

Tried both the alu and the older white Apple keyboard but no success.

Ik think the main issue is the short interruption in the startup.

Where the white LED and the FAN stop and automatically restart.

Since i dont have the electric schematics of the mini i not yet can investigate the power on sequence, and the power supply on the logic board.

I have placed the logic board in another mini and the problem moves with the logic board.

So there is a hardware problem in the logic board.

now the only thing is finding it !!
