I purchased this item without checking whether it was GSM or CDMA:

What should I do?

I would say because he's a uk seller he's selling a gam model.
Yes CDMA and gsm screens are different the brackets on the screen are in different locations

So.. what should I do? He refuses to confirm whether it is GSM or CDMA.. and I can't have any more downtime on my iPhone..

You haven't told us what your phone is - GSM or CDMA. They do require different front panels
CDMA iPhones were only released in the USA as far as I can tell so as con says, the parts are likely GSM coming from a UK seller.

It's GSM.
You're right, it's likely they have GSM LCD Assemblies..
But the fact that the guy said that it was the same thing is bothering me, because he was clearly wrong.

In fact, 90% of the LCD Assemblies on eBay are under 40$..
What does that mean? Can someone confirm?
I know this is an old question, but yes the LCD and digitizer is exactly the same, the only difference is the bezel, which includes the mounting locations, the CDMA and GSM version have different mounting locations. If this happens to you, using a blow dryer on a lower setting heat up your old screen and the replacement screen around the edges (very carefully you don't want the heat exceeding 200 degrees, I do it with a heat gun and infrared thermometer) try to save the factory glue or tape from replacement or old screen swap the bezel paying attention to the mounting location, heat up a bit and sit it in bezel. I've done it a few times it is not hard.
