Broke the LCD data cable connection on the logic board.

While the replacement of the HDD to SSD went smoothly, putting the whole thing back together was another story. After installing the SSD, as I was finishing up the reassembly, I managed to put a little too much force on the display connector, I broke the receiving connection on the login board. I beleave it's called a LCD data connection. Since the disaster I have contacted multiple apple repair shops, and they tell me either they will not accept the job because of its difficulty, or it will cost me an upward of $1,200 dollars to replace the logic board.

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

pchun73, post a good image of the damaged connector on here. Lets see if we can help you with that. You do have the connector? What do the connections look like? Any damage to the traces on the board? You do know how to solder or know someone that does?

How about trying to replace the display cable? I've found original pieces coming from Hong Kong (I just replaced my keyboard like that).

It's pretty straight forward repair if you have the proper soldering skills. If you don't then leave it to the pros..
