Joshua Chichoni, ifixit "Answers" is really not about unlocking or jailbreaking. It is directed toward enabling you to repair your devices. I suggest a Google search and see what you come up with.

Most of the provide offer unlocking service for old mobile models only.So you need to pay for your iphone unlocking.Using Remote unlocking method is the best way to unlock your mobile phone.Recently i unlocked my iphone using this method.I never had any problem.I bought iphone unlocking service from http://www.wickedunlock.com/apple-iphone... I don't think there is an iphone factory unlock service for free. But you can check Google maybe you can find a process there. But I really suggest you to have it taken care of by a professional to avoid issues.
