Need to find replacement battery connection tab on logic board.

Hello, while replacing my battery, I damaged the piece circled in red here: Logic Board (see '''red circle''', not the square)

It normally receives the wire from the battery. I broke off and lost the brownish-tan colored locking mechanism, and only the white part is remaining.

The white part slides off of the logic board easily, so I assume that a replacement could be taken from even an old, damaged logic board.

Does anyone know where or how I might be able to obtain a replacement? Also, does anyone know what to call this part?

Thank you for your help,

Alex

Alec, here is my answer to a very similar question "that is a very common thing to happen. Anyhow, there are really only two things that you can do. One is, of course, to replace the logic board. Not a very expensive or difficult task. The other thing you can try, is to get a local shop to solder a new connector onto the board. It is surface mounted, so you will need to get someone with experience in doing that type of repair. The clip is available at places like this. Either one of those repairs will ensure that you get to keep your iPod functioning. By the way, the part is called a battery connector. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thank you, oldturkey. That was very helpful. I realized that I actually have an iPod classic 6g (160gb), so I purchased the corresponding part. I'm going to try to solder it on myself, or I'll get a friend to do it. I'll let you know how it goes.
