Disabled Wifi
Check and see if the Wifi is enabled in the operating system. Go to "Start", click on "Control Panel". Go to "Network and Internet", click on "Network and Sharing Center". Choose "Change adapter settings" on the Task pane. Right-click on "Wireless Network Connection" and select Enable.
Faulty Driver
First, go into the start menu of the OS, and search "Device Manager". And then click on device manager and locate the "Network adapters". Then double click the network adapter, and this will lead to a drop down option that should give you the Wifi Card in the computer (for example, "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I219 - LM") . For the next step, double click on that to open up the device properties, and 4 tabs will locate at the top of the page. On the first tab there should be a device status text. If the box says that the Device is working properly, try to turn the computer off and on. If not go to the second tab titled "Driver" There should be a button titled "Update Driver...". Click on that box to forcefully update the driver, which should fix the problem. If not, click the uninstall button and then reinstall.
