Computer is not charging
The charger is plugged in but is not charging.
Faulty Charger
Examine the charger for damages on the wire and clean it. Plug it back in tightly. If that does not work, you need to replace the charger.
Faulty Battery
It is possible the battery may be worn out and is no longer able to to hold charge. You will need to replace the battery.
Computer will not turn on
You are pressing the power button to turn on the computer but it will not turn on.
Power is corrupted
Occasionally computers will not turn on normally. You will need to erase the all the charge from the battery.
- Step 1: Take apart the bottom panel of the laptop
- Step 2: Remove the battery
- Step 3: Hold the power button for 2 minutes
Faulty battery
It is possible that the charger is worn out and is no longer able to hold charge. You will need to replace the battery.
Computer keeps freezing
Your computer keeps freezing at random times.
Drivers are outdated
Occasionally drivers are outdated causing software issues. You will need to install the latest firmware drivers from the HP website: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel...
- Step 1: Click on “Firmware-Chipset”
- Step 2: Click on “Download”
Faulty motherboard
The motherboard oversees the connection between all the parts of the computer. It is possible that connection is failing between parts due to a faulty motherboard. You will need to replace the motherboard.
Screen is blank
Your computer is displays a blank screen when turned on
Brightness
It is possible that the brightness may be turned down to the lowest setting. Press and hold the “Fn” key and tap the “F” button in increments to increase the brightness.
LCD display panel
The LCD display panel may be broken, you will need to replace the LCD display panel.
No sound
The sound was working normally until suddenly stopped
Outdated audio drivers
A faulty sound driver may be causing sound issue. You will need to download and install the latest audio-drivers following this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/sel... .
- Step 1: Click “Driver-Audio”
- Step 2: Locate the latest audio-driver from the list by time
- Step 3: Click on “Download”
Sound card
It is possible that the sound card is broken and no sound is coming out as a result. You will need to replace the sound card. If you are not able to replace the sound card, buying an external sound card will fix the sound.
