Power Or Battery Alarm Is Active
If you are having problems with the power supply or the battery alarm, see the following section below.
Absence in the Main Battery Source
Cancel the alarm and check to verify that the front panel LED is illuminated. Unplug and plug in the power supply again to see if power is restored. If the AC LED is not lit with the presence of the main cord, then the power supply/charger may need to be replaced.
Absence in the Power Supply
Cancel the alarm and check to verify that the front panel LED is illuminated. Unplug and plug in the power supply again to see if power is restored. If the DC LED is not lit with the presence of the DC cord, then the check power supply voltage. To check the voltage, switch the device on in setup mode by simultaneously pressing the On/Off switch found at the rear of the machine (position "1" or ON") and keeping the key pressed until the menu appears on the screen. Place the cursor on "MAINTENANCE" and then validate, select the line "Voltage control" and verify: with the mains connected, display the general power supply voltage "ALIM 24,5±1,5V". If LED is not lit and the voltage is too low, then the power supply/charger may need to be replaced.
Check Battery Alarm Is Displayed
Start by checking if the device’s startup main screen PS is off. If it appears on the screen, then simply check the voltage on the battery connector. To check the voltage, switch the device on in setup mode by simultaneously pressing the On/Off switch found at the rear of the machine (position "1" or ON") and keeping the key pressed until the menu appears on the screen. Place the cursor on "MAINTENANCE" and then validate, select the line "Voltage control" and verify: with the mains connected, display the battery voltage "ALIM 28,5±1V". Once the output voltage returns to normal, proceed with the use of the machine. If the battery is not chargeable, then you may need to replace the battery. If the mentioned steps do not work, then the CPU board or switching board may need to be replaced.
End of Battery or Empty Battery Alarm Is Displayed
Reconnect the ventilator to an electrical power supply or external 24V DC power supply immediately.
Note: recharging the internal battery is only possible with the main power supply.
Ventilator Is Making Vibrating Noises or Whistling / Air Noises
For troubleshooting help with abnormal sounds detected from the ventilator, refer to the following section.
Whining Turbine
First, check the condition of the overall device. Next check the condition of the turbine. If the turbine is in fair condition, follow through with checking to see if the whining sound may be coming from the filter area or the valve membranes. If the turbine appears to be damaged, then a replacement of the turbine box is necessary. Refer to the following repair guide for guidance on replacing the turbine box. If the turbine speed is abnormal and the turbine is not damaged, then a replacement of the CPU board may be necessary. For assistance on replacing the CPU board, refer to the CPU replacement guide here.
Whistling Noise
Begin by checking the overall condition of the device. Next, check the condition of the air inlet filter. If the air inlet filter is missing or damaged, then place a new air inlet filter into the ventilator. Once the air filter is restored and the machine is still whistling, check the valve membrane for damage. If in poor condition, change the valve membranes.
Sensors Are Not Displaying Readings
If you are having problems with the display readings, refer to the following information below.
Defective Sensors
The sensors in ventilators are designed to control pressure, airflow, temperature, and humidity. If your display shows that your sensor is not providing data, a sensor any of the sensors may be defective. You will need to determine which sensor is defective and replace it.
Electrical Power Supply Is Interrupted
The ventilator requires a minimum power supply. If the power is less than the requirement, the sensors may provide inaccurate information.
Calibration Error
Every sensor must be calibrated properly, or it may display incorrect information. This does not require replacing the sensor. Instead, you must follow the calibration steps for the specific sensor found in the user manual.
Flow Sensor Alert Is Active
For help with troubleshooting the flow sensor alert message, refer to the section below.
Expired Flow Sensor or Calibration Error
Calibration of the expired flow sensor is only required when the apparatus is fitted with an exhalation block. If the flow sensor is expired, the exhalation block must be replaced, and the exhalation flow sensor recalibrated.
Flow Measure Incoherent
If the flow being produced is different than the flow reading from the display, you will need to calibrate the flow sensor. The steps can be found in the device’s manual.
Internal Machine Leak
If the device is displaying an internal machine leak message, you may need to clean or replace the exhalation block. To clean the exhalation block, clean with soapy water and then rise with clean water; lightly air blast excess connection sites to clear away any remaining water. After the exhalation block is replaced, you must recalibrate the flow sensor.
Abnormal Obstruction or damage to the expiration valve
If there is something blocking the expiration valve, you will get a flow sensor alert. In order to fix this, you must clean the pressure circuit or clean/change the tube.
Valve Leakage Message Is Displayed
'The following section will deal with the two types of problem areas discovered from the valve leakage message.
Leak Is Detected
If a leak is detected on the return branch of a double-branch circuit during inspiration, you may have to clean or change the expiration value or demand tube of the circuit.
If you see that the expired flow sensor is contaminated or faulty, you may have to clean or change out the exhalation block.
To clean the exhalation block, clean with soapy water and then rinse with clean water; lightly air blast excess connection sites to clear away any remaining water. After reinstalling the exhalation block, the expired flow sensor MUST be recalibrated before continuing use.
Valve Is Broken / Obstructed
If there is visible damage to the expiration value it may have to be cleaned or changed. When inspecting the value, make sure to look for any obstructions. This value must have no resistance to expiration in order to permit the rapid discharge of the circuit. If there is any obstruction present in the expiration value, clean or change the value.
If the demand tube is not properly connecting to the expiration value, the expiration value and/or the demand tube must be replaced.
