On my 4 cup Mr. Coffee, one of two thermal cutoff fuses is open. If either/both of those fuses is open, no power will reach the heating element and the water won't boil nor will the warming plate feel hot even if the power switch is lit. They can be checked with an ohmmeter/continuity tester. The thermal elements are accessible by removing the plastic cover on the bottom. I will bypass the failed fuse by wiring a new 216C/250v/10A device in parallel. All connections are crimped or spot welded so the new fuse leads will have to be wrapped around the existing leads.
Do you have a Windows 7 rescue disk? Can you boot this from your CD/DVD drive? Alternatively, do you have a bootable USB key? If you have another computer (laptop) running Win7 with a burner, you can make a rescue disk. Go to Control Panel\System and Security\Backup and Restore and Create a System Repair Disk on the left of the panel. Then try to boot this from your CD. You may have to review your BIOS settings to make sure this is enabled.
There is an 'open force' adjustment that can be changed. Sometimes it goes out of adjustment over time as the weight of the garage door can change with humidity or moisture and/or the springs change tension especially after being replaced. Or as machead3 states, through vibration from ther drive train. The manual for this opener can be downloaded: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/pd_downl... Reference page 13.
What obsoletes many smartphones (at least in the minds of typical users) is the phone OS. What are the plans to have an OS software upgrade process that does not require the average user to have to root the phone and go through the esoteric process that exists today?
Although the battery is described as proprietary, it looks like it is the common CR2032 lithium coin battery that is used in calculators and some computers. I haven't had to replace mine but I suspect under the heatshrink cover is a battery holder which will allow the coin battery to be removed and replaced. Then wrap with electrical tape and reinstall.
