Hello, my name is Betty Choy, and I'm a freshman at University of California, Davis.

I am in the UC Davis College of Engineering, as a Civil Engineering major. I'm aiming for an emphasis in transportation, but I have also explored a variety of other emphases in this field, such as water treatment and environmental studies. I'm also considering a minor in either Sustainability in the Build Environment or Mathematics.

I'd like to find a career focusing on alternative modes of transportation, such as biking, public transportation, and walking. I feel like there is a lot of sustainability and cultural potential in improving the infrastructure surrounding these forms of transportation, and as such I can fulfill my interest in STEM while also emphasizing public service.

I do not have lots of repair experience currently, but I frequently rely on online references in order to fix (or temporarily fix) something that has been broken. However, many times I have also been unable to find a specific guide and used similar ones to reference, to varying degrees of success. I want to participate in iFixit in order to make more kinds of guides, probably general ones.
