You will first need to open the speaker, which can be tricky. Look for seams and work gently. Sometimes screws can be hidden under trim which can be re-secured with snaps or adhesive. Once open go to Amazon and search “USB charge ports” or just “USB ports”. There are numerous selections with many having 10 or so different types in a box for under $15. Compare these with your own until you find one closest looking carefully at the wire attachment points. Get best match and re-solder wires. Attach the new USB with epoxy in line with the port slot taking care its depth allows connector access. Seal port and case with silicone adhesive if any original seals and/or attach devices were damaged. Any burring from opening can be lightly sandpapered as necessary. Remember you started with broken and parts should be less than new unless you are just wanting to explore and learn! Good luck!

Without seeing the degree of damage this is hard to say but, once bent aluminum beams like your ladder is constructed of will have lost a significant part of their strength. Any attempt to straighten it can result in cracking and further weakening. Gently apply weight at the bend point with the ladder supported 2-4’ away from the bend until it is straight as possible. Look over the bent area for any signs of the normally smooth metal surface beginning to show cracks or ‘wrinkling’. It will be there. In truth aluminum will separate before returning to its original shape every time. Decide if you want to risk falling from that height. Either cut it short or reinforce it with aluminum or stainless steel as any other metal will cause corrosion and further weakening. Any repair should be long enough to bridge into clean metal by a foot or so each side of the bend and be well attached to the wider portion of the beam covering its full width. OSHA will not allow your ladder on any job site. Proceed with caution!

I have found that the brushes are the most likely failure point on the Dremel tool. I haven’t purchased a new one in many years but they used to come with a spare set.

In general commutator brushes are made of a soft high carbon compound, usually found with new springs attached. The brushes can be carefully reshaped using files, sandpaper and a razor knife to fit the recesses of the tool.

Use the original to get necessary dimensions, a dial caliper is very helpful here to duplicate channels and recesses as well as determining how long the brushes should be. Should you need to shorten the brush a new concave can be established using a pencil or dowel wrapped in sandpaper being sure to match the concave to the channels so it matches the armature. It is preferable the curve be wider than the armature so edges don’t catch, it will naturally wear into a perfect curve. Blow off before installing.

Once the tool is reassembled turn on and off several times then run for a while varying the speed.
