My experience shows no, I replaced the battery in my 8 with an iFixit one about a year ago and haven’t had any issues with messages popping up, locking out the battery health tab, or other problems. Just be sure to get a battery from a reputable source and you should be good to go!
One thing you should check first is the hard drive cable. These have a tendency to go bad, it was more prevalent on the pre-2012 models but I still see the 2012 design fail from time to time. If that doesn’t help, it is likely a bad logic board and I wouldn’t replace that board with anything but a 2012, Apple likes to change little details from year to year and I believe some of the connections are different. The older board also would not be able to run as new of an operating system, the 2009 model maxes out at OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan while the 2012 model will run 10.15 Catalina. On top of all that, the 2009 model still features the old Core 2 Duo processor which would be a significant performance dip from the 2012 options of the Core i5 and i7.
If you have no other drives connected to the system, it is possible that the internal hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. This is one of the most common methods of computer failure I see nowadays. Do you happen to have model number of the laptop? If you do, we may be able to find a guide we can provide to help you open it to try re-seating the connection and if that doesn’t help, replace it. You should know that after you install a new drive you will need to re-install Windows and to make the installer flash drive you will need access to another computer.
Unfortunately rice does not help with water damage, for me that is one of the most frustrating myths going around today. Whenever a phone gets wet it should be powered down and left to dry for several days. Ideally you want to take apart the device and clean any areas that are wet with water. You can still try this, but the chances of it working are quite a bit lower due to the phone being powered on again. First thing to do is take the phone apart and try another charge port. If you are lucky that is the only thing that will have been corroded enough to stop working. While you are in the phone, go ahead and inspect the rest of it and if you see any corrosion, clean it with some isopropyl alcohol, the higher the concentration the better. If you aren’t comfortable with disassembling the phone, try and find a reputable repair shop near you to look at it.
Unfortunately the displays on the Note 5 and Note 7 / FE are very different and will not work. You will need to find a screen designed for your phone and due to the Note 7’s poor reputation with battery fires, not many spare parts are out there.
Unfortunately this model continues the trend of fusing the glass to the lcd that Apple was using on their previous models. If you want to fix the glass, you will need to replace the entire display assembly, hence why the repair is so costly.
We know you get a red light on the console itself, what color is the light on the power brick? If it is red it is likely defective. If the power brick checks out okay, see if you can get a secondary error code out of the console. You should be able to do this by holding the controller sync button and then hitting the eject button. You can do this 4 times to get 4 numbers. One light illuminated is a 1, two lights is 2, 3 lights is 3, and 4 lights is 0.
Sounds like the switch in the mouse is wearing out. In theory you can get replacement switches, there is actually a whole community behind modifying these mice with different switches and lightening them, however you do need to know how to solder as the switches are soldered onto the PCB in the mouse. You should be able to follow the scroll wheel replacement guide here on iFixit to get the PCB out if you want to attempt to fix it. As for finding the specific switches your mouse needs, the r/MouseReview community on Reddit should be able to help you figure out what kind you need, the guys over there are kinda wizards at this stuff and have helped me in the past.
If the original battery still lets the phone power up, then it seems like you received a faulty battery. Contact whoever you got the battery from and see if you can get a replacement.
Unfortunately Sony likes to release many different internal revisions of their consoles where they change only minor things. They look the same from the outside but have slightly different model numbers. You can only replace the power supply in your original console with the same model power supply. The new one being noisy does not surprise me too much, see this quite often with PS4 consoles. Typically a result of either dust buildup in the heatsink, dried up thermal paste, or both causing the console to run hot and run the fan fast. It isn’t typically too bad to get the console apart to clean the dust out, if you are comfortable with trying to take the thing apart further I would recommend doing that.
I wouldn’t think so, I would like to imagine that they already spent a good amount of time tweaking the sensor before it went in the iPhone 8 and further tweaking the same platform would be mostly wasted time. My guess is they are just using the A13 chip to provide any improvements. That is just a guess though, will probably have to just wait for someone to swap the sensor into an 8 and see if there are any noticeable improvements.
A little surprised the displays are interchangeable, but not too much. Out of desperation we once put an iPhone 7 display on an iPhone 8 (may have been a plus model, can’t remember) and it actually worked just fine, minus the brackets mounting the assembly into the body of the phone being different.
