If you lose the little feet altogether the trackpad is still useable—change these settings in System Preferences and you’ll be able to tap lightly on the trackpad instead of pressing down to click.
Primary Click: Go to System Preferences > Track Pad > Point & Click. Place a checkmark next to “Tap to click”.
Secondary click: Go to System Preferences > Track Pad > Point & Click. place a checkmark next to “Secondary click” and make sure that “Click or tap with two fingers” is selected in the dropdown just below it. (Either use two fingers to click or hold down the control key on your keyboard while tapping the trackpad with one finger).
Drag: Go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad Options. Place a checkmark next to “Enable Dragging” and select “three finger drag” from the dropdown. Now you can use three fingers to drag and object without having to press down on the corner of the trackpad.
