I tried the operation on a T510 and I have a weird issue: it works, including the bightness control, but only in VGA/XGA mode :(
Basically only the Startup screen, the BIOS screen, and a Linux live CD IN RECOVERY MODE (standard boot does not work at all). Regardless on what OS I boot on, I only get the very same horizontal artefact in the middle of the screen as soon as it switches to a “modern” video mode. And I mean an identical animated artefact to the pixel!
Everything works fine after putting back the old panel, so it’s not something I damaged. I failed to update the BIOS for another obscure reason. Anybody knows if this is due to the “LCD cable issue - you need a proper FRU 75Y5557”, or if the panel is possibly faulty? I mean… It seems to work perfectly fine when used in VGA mode so it doesn’t look faulty at first sight.
This is the model I bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008...
Many thanks if anybody has some ideas there…
