Be very, very careful with the connectors! I used this and the other fan guides to thoroughly compressed air-clean my trusty old Santa Rosa. Everything seemed much quieter and smoother after that, until some months ago the fans started coming up to full speed every time I booted my laptop. Now they are always running at full speed, no matter how cool the machine is or how many programs I’m running. I ran a hardware test today, resulting in a temperature sensor error… 4SNS (sensors)…. ending with Th2H, meaning the right temperature sensor (I think). I remember I had a lot of trouble with lifting up those tiny (in my case white) connectors, so I’m afraid I broke the connector of the logic board :( laptop still works fine though, it’s just noisy. I’m going to replace my SSD soon (slow performance after 7 years) and will see if I can somehow reattach it, or perhaps even solder it…!
