My Droid Ultra (XT1080) power button completely broke. I read a few replies to questions about the same issue in a couple different places, and the above did NOT work for me, however, the option that DID work, was - at the SAME TIME - I plugged in my charger (after letting it charge to about 13%) I pressed the volume down key, and immediately the boot screen popped up, giving me options, Factory Reset being the option immediately highlighted halfway down the list. From there the volume Up key makes the selection, and you can scroll thru the options using the volume Down key. Hope this helps! :)
