Out of no where, my almost-2-year old iPhone 6 was suffering from very weak wifi, very week bluetooth, and the GPS became out of whack and unusable.
Super thanks to ifixit and their guide for replacing the wifi flex cable! It worked for me and my phone is like new again.
Important note: Be sure to have a screwdriver made for the 'stand off' screw (step 36). The first time I attempted this repair I got to that step and got stuck. A regular flathead screwdriver would not work for me. I had to reassemble my phone, order a special screwdriver for that screw, wait a week for it to arrive, and then attempt this repair again.
Second time was a charm. Got through the steps much faster than the first time, swapped the antenna with a new one, put it all back together... and ta-da! Full strength wifi and bluetooth back again, as well as fully functional GPS. Thank you to whoever put this guide together!
Same thing happened to me. I hope it's not too vital!
I absolutely can not get this standoff screw off. Searching the web now for "iphone standoff screw" I see that there are specialized screwdrivers for getting this screw off. I wish I had one right at this moment! Anyway, an improvement to these instructions would be to mention this standoff screw upfront, so that one can be prepared with the right screwdriver before starting this job. I'm stuck at this step right now. A small flathead screwdriver just isn't cutting it.
