必要な工具と部品

  1. TP-Link Archer C7 Teardown, Remove the antennas: 手順 1、 2の画像 1 TP-Link Archer C7 Teardown, Remove the antennas: 手順 1、 2の画像 2
    • Straighten each antenna by unfolding it at the hinge.

    • Hold each antenna by the knurled (ribbed) base and unscrew it from the body of the router. Remove all three antennas.

  2. TP-Link Archer C7 Teardown, Remove the bottom screws: 手順 2、 2の画像 1 TP-Link Archer C7 Teardown, Remove the bottom screws: 手順 2、 2の画像 2
    • Remove the 4 screws that secure the top cover of the router to the base.

    • Use a pry tool to pull the edge of the top cover outward from the base at each joint, until it unlatches. There are 9 joints in total.

    • Hooks on the top cover latch into slotted tabs on the base. The joint at the back of the router is inverted from the rest: the hooks are on the base and the slotted tab is on the cover.

    • Remove the top cover.

  4. TP-Link Archer C7 Teardown, Results: 手順 4、 1の画像 1
    • The teardown is complete!

    • When reassembling the router, ensure that all ports sit flush with the back of the base, and that all buttons and switches move freely. The snap-fit joint at the back of the router will not engage properly if the ports or controls are misaligned.

I got a question, how do I pry it without breaking the plastic?

Use Opener tool. In absence of it payment card with sharpened edge or disposable plastic knife will work as well. However be careful to avoid breaking plastic pins on inside edges of router case.

It’s a little tricky, but just using a pry tool (actually finger nails and credit card would probably work), you can start to work it off starting in the front. My AC1750 just stopped working. No wireless. No networking. The reset button generates no change to the LEDs. Seems to have just turned into a dumb hub. I opened it up - but just couldn’t find anything suspicious. Frustrating - as all I did was put away in a closet for two years. It was working before.

This appears to be an Archer C7 V2 or similar shown in this writeup. I have both a C7 V2 and a C7 V5 and they are quite different. The V2 has 3 Internal 2.4 Ghz antennas, and the removable external antennas are for 5 Ghz only. If you plan on using this for some long range 2.4 Ghz with aftermarket antennas, this will not work without substantial modification. The V5 does not have removable antennas, but the external fixed antennas are dual band 2.4 / 5 Ghz. The circuit board is also considerably different. The V2 has a separate add-on card for the 5 Ghz radio. The V5 does not. The V2 has Two USB Ports, The V5 only has One. Suffice it to say that the Archer C7 V2 and the Archer C7 V5 are completely different routers.
