はじめに

This teardown will show the disassembly process for an HTC Wildfire S. The phone has a user replaceable battery, so disassembly will only be necessary for screen, motherboard, camera, speakers, SIM card reader, ports, or other internal components.

The tools list substitutes an unknown Phillips driver in step 5 for the Essential Electronics Toolkit, but if you’ve already got Phillips #0, #00, and #000 drivers, you’re probably in the clear with the spudger and Torx T5. If you complete this Teardown, feel free to update that step and the tools list with the correct size Phillips driver.

    • turn off your phone

    • remove back cover and battery

    • you can use back cover of your phone

    • unplug three ribbon cables from motherboard

    • ribbon cables are easy to damage

    • remove 2 phillips screws and remove motherboard

    • black ribbon cable is glued to screen

    • remove glue between black ribbon cable and screen
