Dock Connector Replacement

My fiance and I have been getting the most out of our Iphone 3GS's. His recently stopped charging due to his habit of using it to play music in our tiny steamy bathroom while he's in the shower. The guys at the Apple Store told us for the price it would take to fix it, we may as well get a new phone. As all of our funds are being saved for our wedding, I figured that it was worth a shot to try and fix it myself.

Admittedly, I am really handy, but I've never worked on a small electronic device before. After checking out the tutorial I was pretty sure I could pull it off. After I got the new dock, I was really surprised how smoothly the whole thing went. It was a little harder to put it back together (of course) but all in all it went great! The phone is fixed and I get to feel like a total bad ass.

Make sure you have a place to put your tiny screws, some are different sizes, and it is super hard to tell them apart. Also, getting the logic board back in the right alignment was a little challenging, be careful of the previously disconnected wires. Oh yeah, and the spudger is worth its weight in gold.
