Hard Drive Mania

問題

For my desktop computer, I had several files and several operating systems scattered across several hard drives that I had accumulated over the years. A few months ago, the primary operating system stopped working, and I used this adaptor to recover and reorganize all of my files via my laptop. Worked like a charm.

The great thing about the drive adaptor is that it works with just about every hard drive, because it has data ports for SATA, PATA, and laptop-sized PATA. And it has the 4-prong (not sure what the official name is) and the SATA power ports.

My only complaints about the adaptor are

1) The only way to power the hard drive is via an A/C wall outlet. It would be nice if this could be done through 2 USB ports as well. That way, there would be less cable clutter on my desk.

2) The data transfer rate seems to be considerably slower than some USB 2.0 external hard drives I have from yesterdecade, even if I use the adaptor with a really fast WD Caviar Black (internal) hard drive I purchased a few months ago.
