Fixed battery with minimal collateral damage

My battery was draining quickly and sporadically. Some days it would be fine and other days it would shoot to zero. I ended up carrying an external power pack everywhere I went. I checked my battery capacity and it was at ~40% so I figured I should get a new one.

修理

The repair went well! It didn't take as long as I had thought and it cost less than going to Apple directly. In the process of removing the adhesive tape, my dad and I didn't read the part that said to pull the tape around the battery so it got stuck underneath. We followed the steps using a hair dryer to heat the back of the case and free the battery. In doing so, the hairdryer blew around those really really tiny screws! We found all but one. My dad has a 6 as well so he took one out of his and put it in mine so I wasn't screwed (heh). Then we found the screw and all was well and even between our phones.

アドバイス

Use a magnet to hold the screws so they won't get away from you.
