Replacing iPhone 5 battery - piece of cake!

Battery was shot. Needed a new one.

SPOILER ALERT - I'm an engineer and repair all sorts of electronic devices.

After reviewing the online video at ifixit.com, I went ahead with the operation. If there was ANY difficulty, it was removing the top glass surface using the provided suction cup. The mating surfaces were stuck together as the phone had not been disassembled since birth. The supplied suction cup was not sufficient. I improvised by using my own suction cup that was not designed for this surgery. Once the case opened, it was very simple and quick. 10 minute total time, 6 of which was getting the case open.

THANK YOU IFIXIT for providing the necessary parts and tools!! Will purchase again.

I used my own suction cup for disassembly, but if you're not a MacGyver I'd recommend purchasing the double suction cup tool from iFixit. Definitely if you're repairing more than one phone like this in the near future.
