My trusted companion for ten years, one of the first ipods, had a battery that would no longer hold a charge. The ipod played well in my Bose station but could not play on battery power. I chose ifixit because of the reviews and the wonderful website that helped me identify the battery for my 60GB ipod.

It was scarey because I am so attached to my old reliable ipod. The instructions were great. I was patient and I agree it is a challenge to open the case and going slow with care was the key. All went well. I did not have a guitar pick and only used the tools from the kit.

A plastic tweezers in the toolkit to disconnect and connect cables would help a great deal.
