Easier than I thought

After mocking people who drop phones, mine jumped out of my pocket and landed on pavement, shattering the screen.

Very well. The directions are clear, but I found a long video on YouTube from another source that was even better in some ways because it called out some pitfalls. I watched a couple different videos before starting. I took my time and was done in about 30 minutes. I didn't have to use heat to free adhesive. Everything works as good as new.

The screws are TINY, so don't just do this in a dim room on your coffee table. I put down a white dish towel so I could see the screws and they wouldn't bounce if dropped. Magnetize the screwdrivers. I think I'd have gone nuts if I had to place the screws by hand.

Also, the step in the instructions where you peel copper circuit tape off that metal plate is entirely unnecessary. Be patient and don't force anything. Taking an extra 10 seconds on a step might save you $500 in damage.
