Left fan replacement on 2008 17" Macbook Pro (non-unibody)

Fan was noisy

Part came in when expected and was correct. Used the Ifixit guide to tear down and replace the fan which went with no issue. Did have an issue with the Mac's top case where the front inside screw attachment brackets spot welds failed (not happy with Apple's quality here), but everything else went perfect

アドバイス

Work on a surface and separate out the screws to easily find them when putting everything back together. Also, I did not have to disconnect the ISight cables as I was able to pivot the fan out without it being disconnected.
