In January 2011, Verizon Wireless announced that it had reached an agreement with Apple and would begin selling the CDMA version of the iPhone 4 (A1349), ending Apple’s exclusive agreement with AT&T. This version of the phone supports personal hotspot and has a battery life up to 7 hours of talk time (3G) on one charge.
The most common repairs needed for the CDMA iPhone 4 are cracked displays and rear panels, and dead batteries. iFixit carries the best iPhone 4 screens, iPhone 4 glass rear panels, and iPhone 4 batteries on the market, along with an entire catalog of other iPhone 4 parts for the less common repairs.
Apple introduced the pentalobe screw with newer models of the iPhone 4, requiring the use of the Pentalobe P2 screwdriver. Along with this special screwdriver, all iPhone 4 repairs will require a set of other standard precision electronics tools. All iFixit Fix Kits come with all tools needed to complete the desired repair.
Once all parts and tools have been acquired, check out iFixit’s iPhone 4 repair guides for step-by-step instructions on how to make the fix.
