-[* black] Bearing or bushing are what the axles of the gears fit into and there replacement is one of the leading reasons for having to re-shim a gearbox.
-[* black] If the round circular piece is made from a soled piece of plastic, brass or steel then it is called a bushing. If the round piece made up of multiple pieces with a spinning middle section then it is a bearing with little round balls on the inside kind of like in a skate board bearing.
-[* black] Make sure these bearings are placed properly into gearbox before shimming.
-[* black] To place in the gearbox first try to push them in by hand applying even pressure to the bearing/bushing with the wider side facing up. If you need more force to get the bushing in try to use something soft like the back of a rubber screwdriver grip.
+[* black] Bushings are the round parts that the axles of the gears fit into. Replacing them would require that you re-shim the gearbox.
+[* black] Bushings can be made from plastic, brass, or steel. Some bushings are solid, while others contain ball bearings. Ball bearings improve performance by allowing the gears to turn more freely. The disadvantage in ball bearing bushings is that they are more expensive and can sometimes break if used with a powerful piston spring.
+[* black] Make sure the bushings are fully seated in the gearbox before you begin shimming.
+[* black] To install bushings in the gearbox, first try pushing them in with your fingers. If you need more force to get them in, try to use something soft like the back of a rubber screwdriver grip.
