[ … ]One of the less intuitive but still very important parts of guitar maintenance is adjusting the truss rod. While this shouldn’t be used to adjust the guitars action, it can help to avoid fret buzz and keep the action consistent across the neck. While if you’re careful this is process is safe, you do need to be aware that you can accidentally strip the threads of the truss rod or even snap the neck of the guitar. You will also need to let the guitar rest overnight, so we would recommend to do this after daily practice, and to do it roughly twice a year.
