Introduction |
Shimming is basically the the task of placing your gear ingears at such a distance from each gearother that they will perform at it'stheir best. What we airsofters call shims are in many ways more like little washers that goesgo on the axles of each gear. | | The goal is to have the geargears so that do notDO NOT bounce meaning to go up and down, or bind meaning that they are being pressed against each other and creating frictions. | | The teeth of each gear also have to make good contact with each other if the teeth do not have only a small area of contact then that will put alot of pressure on athat small area and cause the teeth to fail over time. | | So you can imagine good shimming is one of the most important thing when it comes to having a long lasting and reliable AEG.
Plus you can make jaws drop when you go to a chrono station and the guys working there shoot your AEG for the first time because your AEG sounds that good. |
