step 2--I can't get the battery out of the compartment. Am I not pushing hard enough? Should I take a screw driver to pry it out? I'm afraid of breaking the compartment since it's only plastic.

The battery does not prevent the display/clock from switching off when I unplug the cord. Is the purpose of the battery not supposed to be to retain power even when unplugged? I have already put in a replacement one, presuming the one that came with it to be faulty. How do I get this to work?

Is the original Sony one meant to charge up or something? Please help as it doesn’t seem right if back up battery function does not do it’s job.

The back up battery doesn’t seem to do it’s job. Unit switches off when unplugged. Is it the case that the original Sony battery charges? I assumed ut to be flat, replaced the battery but this doesn’t retain the power either

Is my clock faulty? How to engage the back-up battery?

@kirstyonline Kirsty, as the battery description says, it is only backup. So not for full device powering, but only to back-up time status while mains power is down. Unfortunately, this device is only capable of running from mains.

I just put a new battery into this unit but the no battery light on the face of the clock will not turn off. I did reset the time as instructed and pull the electrical cord out of the wall and re-plugged in to reset everything but the brand new battery out of a package now installed still gives me a no battery signal on the face of the clock.

Do you have a battery compartment for sale? I lost it. I can’t install a backup battery.

My ICF-C1T came without a unit to hold the battery or the cover ? Is there a reason it did not come with it? Is there a way of me getting one? I thought i read somewhere that the battery was built in and that is why the area for the battery was left empty and uncovered. If I do need a backup battery how do I get one?
