    • Remove the side panel of the Mac Pro.

    • Discharge any static electricity by touching a grounded surface prior to working on any internal components. Touching the metal PCI slot covers works great, or any other grounded metal surface. You can also wear a anti-static wrist strap.

    • 1. Ensure the mac is fully powered down with the monitor, power supply cable, and any external cables plugged in disconnected.

    • Wait 60 seconds for all components to fully discharge and cool off, as this can pose as a danger to yourself and others close to you.

    • (OPTIONAL): Consider Wearing an Anti-Static Wrist band and grounding yourself to a static metal object. Alternatively, use the Ifixit anti-static mat with the provided wristband to keep yourself safe from any electrical charge.

    • Open up the removable metal panel to reveal the inside of the mac.

    • Be careful to not cut yourself on the edges of the panel, as it is quite sharp! I (ArandomHitman) have made this mistake before and end up getting a deep cut that needed to be disinfected.

    • Using both of your hands, grab the ram trays/risers by their left and right edges one at a time, then slowly pull them out until you feel much less resistance on the trays. Pull them out and set them to the side.

    • Be careful not to touch the gold PCIE brackets on both the RAM trays and the sticks themselves,as they may still have some charge.

    • Unscrew the PCIE slot bracket holding your GPU(s) into place and take it out.

    • Using one hand, take the lock and push it towards the logic board and slightly upward. Then, with the other hand, slowly pull out the graphics card.

    • Be sure to set it aside for reinstallation.

    • With your Phillips head screwdriver, locate the two screws holding the RAM compartment and the fan to the right of it, and unscrew them.

    • Once done, take the screws and set them aside, then wiggle/pry the bracket until it's decently loose.

    • Take the backside of the fan facing toward the outside of your Mac Pro and push it inwards towards the inside of your RAM tray. You may need to use some force to do so, so having a prying tool and (maybe) even a second person on hand to help would do.

    • Once the fan is far enough inside the RAM tray, take out the RAM tray and set it off to the side.

    • With your hand on the lip CPU cooler cover closest to the logic board and the other on the right side near the 90-degree bend, pull the cover up towards yourself.

    • It may take a little bit of force to do so, but keep a decent distance away to avoid hitting yourself!

    • With a Phillips head screwdriver, locate the fan mount screw at the top of the mount connected to the motherboard and unscrew it.

    • Insert wisdom here.
