Lenovo IdeaPad Y580-2099 Wi-Fi Card Replacement

This guide provides instructions on how to replace the Wi-Fi card on the Lenovo IdeaPad Y580-2099 laptop. Removing this part does not require any specialized training or experience as long as the steps are followed closely.

    • Make sure the laptop is powered off and disconnected from the charger.

    • Flip the laptop upside down so that the bottom faces up.

    • Place your thumbs on each side of the laptop and slide the tabs into the unlock position.

    • Once tabs are in the unlock position, carefully slide the battery out of the compartment.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to unscrew and remove the two 8 mm screws (highlighted in red) that secure the back panel in place.

    • Gently slide & pull the panel off the device.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the two 3 mm screws that secure the Wi-Fi card in place.

    • Gently unplug the two coaxial antenna cables clasped to the Wi-Fi card.
