• To replace the dryer cord for the LG PureSteam you will simply need a #0 Phillips screwdriver. If not done correctly there could be some electrical hazards. Make sure to pull out the dryer from the wall to ensure maximum space for you to work with. Insure that you plenty of light, and steady hands to complete this fix.

• Use your Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the back panel concealing the wires. It is located directly above where the power cable feeds into. It is held in place with one 3.2 mm screw. Once you remove that screw it should unhook from the slots that they are latched onto.

• Use the Phillips #0 to loosen the two 6mm screws that secure the clamps holding the wires in place. Simply loosening them and maneuvering them out of the hole will suffice.

• Remove the wires connected to the dryer with your Phillips #0 screwdriver, making sure to stay in control of the 2.2mm screws holding them in place.
• Accidentally dropping them into the dryer will ensure you never see them again.

• Use the Phillips #0 to remove the green grounding wire held in place with a 3.2mm screw, and carefully remove the power cord from the dryer by pulling it out from the base of the feeding hole.

• Notice that the grounding wire screw is a 3.2 mm screw compared to the other ones at 2.2mm. It is important to keep them separated. In the event that you lose a 2.2mm screw, there should be a spare screwed into the back of your dryer.

• Feed the new power cable into the wire hole, and screw the cables in from reverse order using the proper corresponding screws. Note that the white cables are stacked on top of each other. In that case the wire coming from the dryer goes under the wire from the new cord.

• Lastly replace the back panel, and wire clamp. Ensure that the wire clamp hooks into the wire hole. This will keep the wires from falling out and getting damaged.
