    • Two spring bar pins attach the watchbands to the body and allow for easy removal.

    • Reference shots of the front and back of the Huawei Watch GT body.

    • The plastic rear cover of the Huawei Watch GT is secured by 4 Torx T3 screws (3.6 mm length).

    • Applying an opening pick or fingernail to the small notch at the upper edge of the watch is enough to separate the bottom cover.

    • At this point it's possible to open the watch but the display and back cover are still connected by a multi purpose interconnect flex cable.

    • We go by the book and unplug the battery first by removing two Phillips #00 screws (2.9 mm length) and a metal shield.

    • The battery is held in place by mild adhesive and comes out after some gentle heating and prying.

  5. Huawei Watch GT Repairability Assessment: 手順 5、 2の画像 1 Huawei Watch GT Repairability Assessment: 手順 5、 2の画像 2
    • Unplugging the interconnect cable—carrying the vibration motor and the heart rate sensor—requires removing another pair of screws and a small metal shield.

    • Seems like the interconnect flex cable can't be removed from the rear cover—bummer.

    • After removing four more Phillips #00 screws and disconnecting the screen and digitizer connector as well as the side button cable, the motherboard can be removed.

    • The flex cable of the two side buttons is glued to the motherboard with mild adhesive and can be peeled off.

    • Ambiq Micro Apollo3 Blue MCU with ARM Cortex-M4 Processor

    • Winbond 1 Gbit serial NAND flash

    • NXP 80T35 36 04 SSD902, probably NFC controller

    • Broadcom BCM47752 GPS receiver

  8. Huawei Watch GT Repairability Assessment: 手順 8、 1の画像 1
    • The screen and digitizer of the Huawei Watch GT are glued to the display frame with strong adhesive and can not be removed without causing damage to them.

    • So replacing the screen means replacing the complete top part of the watch.

  9. Huawei Watch GT Repairability Assessment: 手順 9、 2の画像 1 Huawei Watch GT Repairability Assessment: 手順 9、 2の画像 2
    • The Huawei Watch GT earns a 5 out of 10 on our repairability scale (10 is the easiest to repair):

    • Watch band replacements are fast and simple.

    • Easy glueless opening procedure.

    • The battery can be removed independently. The removal procedure needs some prying but isn't too bad.

    • The screen and the digitizer can't be removed separately.

    • The sensor assembly including the vibration motor is soldered to the back cover.

is it possible to change the screen in an easy way together with the digitizer?

Hi Dominik,thanks for your share!

This article about HUAWEI WATHCH GT teardown is the second I’ve ever seem, and the other is there : 集微拆评 . Combine the two, you’ll found that all the ICs installed on the PCB is clear.

do you have any idea where i can buy the spare part for the screen?

I got mine fell, and the screen gradually becoming pitch black. Now it’s completely black, but i think all the other functionalities are okay.

The screws in step 3 are not phillips does anyone know what they are?

Hi Mauricio,

thanks for your comment. Your objection was right and we made a correction in the repairability assessment. The screws securing the rear cover are Torx 3 (T3) screws.

They are y shape micro driver, torx I think, look like a Philips from the side but if you look directly down its in a Y or Mercedes car badge (emblem) shape. Pick them up quite cheep from screwfix or toolstation.

Hello,

Thank you for this write up. Do you know how many o-rings if present are sealing the buttons? Or is it a diaphragm seal type for the actuation?

Very Best Regards,

James H.

Hi Dominik, I believe I've got a little water damage to my screen as it isn't as responsive as before, it feels stuck and difficult to operate! As it is beyond warranty period I was thinking of dipping it in isopropyl alcohol for 24 hours, let it dry and see the result. Do you believe this may work or without opening the case it will be a useless procedure?

Thanks

Pedro
