How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus

必要な工具と部品

  1. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Before We begin: 手順 1、 1の画像 1
    • This is not a normal thing to do to a chromebook. Please keep in mind that android app functionality may be degraded without touchscreen. This should only be done if your touchscreen is hypersensitive (like mine) and you can live without (certain) android apps.

  2. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Opening the computer: 手順 2、 1の画像 1
    • This step is very easy, use a PHILIPS#0 to remove the 8 screws on the back panel (flip computer upside down). There are no screws under the feet.

  3. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Removing Cover: 手順 3、 1の画像 1

    • Use a plastic card (or fingernail) to separate the panel from the back where the gap is.

  4. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Removing the digitizer cable: 手順 4、 1の画像 1
    • In the top left corner (with the battery at the bottom) where the arrow is pointing, pull the cable out of the socket.

  5. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Removing the S Pen sensor cable: 手順 5、 1の画像 1
    • Remove the cable marked in this image by pulling on the pull tab. This will disable the s pen but will not physically remove it from the computer.

  6. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Putting the cables back in (optional): 手順 6、 1の画像 1
    • To re-insert the digitizer cable just push on it until it goes in. To re-insert the s pen cable, shove the end of the cable in until there is almost no space between the socket and the white line

  7. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Re-adding the screws (NOTICE!): 手順 7、 1の画像 1
    • Look at the red circle, do NOT put a screw there. One of the screws holding the back panel also fits in there.

  8. How to disable touchscreen on samsung chromebook plus, Re-inserting the screws: 手順 8、 1の画像 1
    • NOTICE: YOU MUST RE-INSERT THE BACK COVER THIS WAY IN ORDER TO KEEP THE PANEL FROM BULGING! Slide the cover into the back (hinge side first), make sure to slide in then push down on top to make sure cover is secured. Once secured, insert top middle screw first (red), then insert other top screws (orange), then the other screws (yellow).

    • Done! To re-insert cables, please go thru the steps again (skip steps 4 and 5) and refer to step 6 on re-inserting the cables. After that, complete the rest of the steps.

終わりに

To reactivate touchscreen/s pen support, please follow the steps in order again, skipping 4 and 5, but including 6.

Interesting to see this teardown, great photos! Here’s a keyboard shortcut. Is there any way to turn off the touch screen feature for Chrome OS? https://productforums.google.com/forum/#...

Chromebook touchscreen (including pen input) can be disabled / toggled via keyboard shortcuts, the shortcuts are disabled by default and can be switched on with flags. Browse to chrome://flags/ search for Debugging keyboard shortcuts enable it and click Restart Now to restart.

Press shift + search + t to toggle touchscreen on/off

Also shift + search + p will toggle the touchpad on/off

Can you demonstrate how to to get to the hinges on the screen portion? Is the plastic piece under the screen just secured with double side adhesive or are there clips holding it in place? Thanks.

sorry for not getting back to you earlier, but I do not have possession of the chromebook anymore, and as such I do not know how
