The random access memory (RAM) stores temporary data for programs to use while they are running. Some programs use a lot of memory so it may be useful to replace RAM with ones with more memory on them.

  4. Locate the release tabs on both sides of the RAM. Use non-conductive pointing tool or fingers to prevent static build up and damaging components. Pull the metal tabs away from the memory to release it.
