This guide shows you how to access the speaker of your phone, the component which produces sound.

  1. Make sure your phone is turned off.

  7. Remove the screws on the phone in the order of the colors of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple) with a Torx T6 screwdriver.

    • Removing the screws in this order prevents any unnecessary torsion on the circuit board. Be sure to remove the screws in the order indicated.

  8. Pull the screen assembly from the base of the phone.

    • Set the base of the phone, as indicated, aside.

  9. Carefully lift the keypad portion of the screen assembly from the circuit board.

  10. Separate the screen from the circuit board.

    • Note the components circled in orange. These will need to be reconnected during reassembly in order for the screen to function.

    • Set the circuit board, as indicated, aside.

    • Remember to reconnect the screen to the circuit board when reassembling!

  11. Gently push down on the screen to pop it off of the assembly.

  12. When the screen falls out the assembly, two white tabs will fall out with it.

    • When reinstalling the screen, insert the tabs with the slanted side pointing upwards so they slide into the assembly.

  13. Set the screen and the tabs aside.
    • Set the screen and the tabs aside.

  14. You can now access the speaker.

    • Note the tab on the end of the speaker. It must be placed in correctly in order to reinstall the speaker.

  15. Remove the speaker from the assembly.
